The matter came up with urgency right before the Jubilee in 2000, which was supposed to bring over the Eternal City millions of tourists. As soon as the law was passed we started this website creating what was then the first Holiday Rental Portal in Rome. The purpose was and still is to create an affordable alternative to hotels in Rome. In many ways we have succeeded. The listings are many in number (over 300 at the moment) and affordable in price (ca 70% cheaper per sqmt compared to three star hotels in the same areas).
