Clean and comfortable apartment that remained cool even as temperatures soared into the 90s. Owner thoughtfully provided restaurant and gelato shop recommendations, as well as pharmacy and supermarket locations (marked on a map) and stocked refrigerator with a few bottles of cold water. 15 minute walk to the Colosseo; 5 minutes to metro station and easy access to rest of the city.

Propriétaire très sympathique et disponible. Appartement pas forcément très net (prévoir de renettoyer couverts en arrivant), mais ensemble correct. Le lit à deux étages ne semble pas très solide : pour deux adultes, le matelas du haut a fini par terre, et le chauffe-eau est dans la chambre ce qui peut être dérangeant ! En revanche, l'appartement est à 5 minutes à pied de saint Jean de Latran, sainte Marie Majeure, saint Clément, et à 10 du Colisée. A 3 minutes d'une station de métro (Manzoni) ce qui est aussi très pratique (on peut attendre 25 minutes le bus que l'on souhaite prendre...). Excellent rapport qualité/prix.

Neat, clean and simple appartment. Away from the old city's hussle bussle but just at ten minutes walking distance from most of the monuments. Freindly and helpful land lord.

This is in the Pilgrim section of Rome which is charming but not as clean due to all of the immigrants.  The main road, via Merulana is lovely, with several good restaurants, cafes and places to get groceries.
It is the most affordable apartment and has all you need as well as a charming caretaker.  He will assist you with the basics about getting around on mass transit and seeing the sights.  He is a very sweet man.
I give this a 4 star rating because it is so much more affordable than any other apartment in Rome.
However, this is a basement apartment that is dank.  There are also other issues that I alerted the caretaker to, as follows:  the refrigerator barely works, due to age; one of the bed frames in the master bedroom needs to be replaced.  It collapsed on me when I sat on the end of the bed.  Hopefully these issues will be addressed.

an explanation. The broken bed has been replaced immediately with a new other. The kitchen, the living room and the two bed-rooms aren't wet; the cellar is dank and the bathroom is wet too because find itself under the side-walk. The refrigerator is not very old (seven years) and has been repaired also
