Apartment Owner's Notes and Description
Typical and cozy apartment in the heart of Rome, in Via Luigi Santini in Trastevere (S. Cosimato). Perfect to accommodate from two to four people, it’s convenient for those who love the old town and walks through the narrow streets of Trastevere’s district that offering a wide variety of attractions: traditional workshops of artisans, ancient squares, churches, monuments, outdoor markets….Also in the evening this area lies at the heart of Roman nightlife: people walking and crowd many bars, pubs, pizzerias and typical roman "trattorie”. Considering that this district is strategic to reach on foot the biggest attractions in Rome: Piazza Venezia, Colosseum, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Pantheon, etc. The apartment has a large entrance, two double bedrooms, one with double sofa bed and a large closet. It also equipped with a large kitchen with gas stoves, oven, microwave, refrigerator, we also provide all the crockery and kitchen utensils. The bathroom is spacious with shower. The apartment is located in a basement floor of a nineteenth century’s building which once it was an ancient cellar, in fact all ceilings are vaulted and doors are arched. The apartment is equipped with independent heating and its thick walls make it cool in summer and warm in winter. There is also a comfortable private terrace which is located inside the atrium of the building where there is a washing machine and a small table with chairs for a good lunch or reading outside. There are also equipments such as Wi-Fi Internet, Tv, iron with ironing board, hair dryer. To our guests we provide bed linen and towels, utilities and final cleaning are included.Below you find some general directions to reach the apartment by public transportation:
From Fiumicino Airport there is a Metro line that’ll get you from the Rome airport into the city. It’s the FM1 line, called Sabina-Fiumicino, and it stops at Trastevere Station, then you can take the tram n. 8 to the Stop “Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione”; from there you proceed on foot for few minutes, direction Piazza San Cosimato and there you find the street via Luigi Santini.
From Ciampino Airport you can take a bus (Terravision) to the Termini Station and then you can take the bus n.H to the same stop “Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione” or you can take the bus n.64 to the stop “Largo Argentina” and then the tram n.8 to the stop “Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione”; from there you proceed on foot for few minutes, direction Piazza San Cosimato and there you find the street via Luigi Santini.

About Trastevere:
Our Trastevere’s neighborhood is known as the most typical of the city.
During the day, in its narrow streets you sense the atmosphere of the ‘800 quiet life, thanks to the preservation of its historical sites and of the ancient craft shops.
The cobbled streets are mostly car-free, the restauratnts and cafes serve up some of the cheapest eats you’ll find in Rome and it’s good too, the square in front of Santa Maria in Trastevere church is very charming.
During the evening Trastevere becomes the heart of the Roman nightlife and it’s very easy to lose yourself between several pubs, disco bar or pizzerias.
Trastevere Borgo was very important since the age of the Roman Emperor Augustus, he wanted to extend the Rome’s boundaries to this “Regio Transtiberina”, before that time it was occupied by the Etruscans.
It becames the seat of important Roman villas of which have been found some ruins.
In the Middle Age, Trastevere was a labyrinth of winding narrow streets, the contrast between rich houses and small houses of poorest people was very strong.
Due to the partial isolation (Trastevere was beyond the Tiber) and multicultural environment since the time of the ancient Rome, its people were up like a separate population: “trasteverini”, commoners known by their tenacity, pride and genuineness, their women were considered very beautiful, with good features and very dark eyes and hairs.
After 1870 the big walls were built to contain the Tiber floods, this certainly has brought to an increased safety at the expense of all places most characteristic that were on the shore which were destroyed.
Enjoy your Stay!

We really liked this apartment. The location was perfect, a short walk across the bridge from the hustle of Rome proper. The neighborhood was perfect, with great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.
The apartment was nice, and relatively quiet. Although it is a basement apartment, we were not there much during the day, so that aspect did not bother us. It is a Roman apartment, so space was tighter than Americans are used to, but for two weeks, it was not an impediment. It was nice to have a washer and a spacious kitchen for a two week stay.
I would consider staying here again and will definitely stay in the neighborhood again.
