Roman from Russian Federation

We stayed at this apartment № 171 in Via di San Giovanni in Laterano in June 2014 as a big company of 3 adults and 4 kids from 12 to 14 years old. The visit in Rome left us the most pleasant memories. What largely contributed to our great mood was amazing accommodation in the very heart of the Eternal City.
The house is located between the two small one-way roads, within 10 min walking distance from Colosseum and 25 min walking distance from Termini railway station. The estate is surrounded by parks and early Christian churches.
The entrance leads from the outside to the tiny, tranquil scent-laden patio full of green and flowers. Top floors of the building are served by an authentic hand controlled lift.
The interior carries an atmosphere of an art salon: antique furniture, extremely high ceiling, squeaky wooden shutters on the windows, vintage arm pads, chandeliers on the piano front cover, old-fashioned chairs with carved backs, walls covered with cubist and impressionist paintings. The apartment seems to be owned by an artist. Art books and Rome traveler guides are in abundance on the book stacks.
Comfortable and very spacious  combination bathroom is equipped with modern sanitary ware and a washing machine. There is everything you need for taking meal at home in the huge kitchen: long table, several dinner-sets, wineglasses and cups. You won’t be lacking anything even if some friends decide to come for dinner. Terrace with a clothes-airer, facing the patio, lets you observe the habits of intelligentsia living nearby. Aromas seeping out from nearest windows tell you everything about the sauces that warm-hearted good wives added to their pasta tonight. Two separated bedrooms are furnished with double beds, individual artist built bed lamps, slide door hanging cupboard and clothes cabinet. Linen and towels are provided for free. In addition to the apartment key you will have a key to the rooftop door, from where you can behold the sunset sipping evening glass of wine, or sunrise during your morning exercises.
Location in the center of Rome with its proximity to Colosseum in the unique atmosphere of the Old Town with narrow desert streets, as well as special            interior layout are the main and undeniable advantages of this apartment. Thanks to the owners’ fine artistic taste, homey home spirit here joins delicateness and sophistication.
I cannot say enough good things about Ninni Romeo, the owner of the apartment. She is a very kind and genteel senior woman, who gives personal welcome to all arriving guests, proposing them coffee or juice. Then she shows you every detail of the apartment, walking you through its Bulgakovian corridors. Ninni is willing to recommend you the tour itineraries in case you need it. Besides, she is helpful in solving any domestic problem. In our case she had the kindness to assent to 7 persons instead of 6 declared in the reservation document. There are three sofas in the living room, so no problem with additional sleeping accommodations. During the rest of our stay we communicate with Ninni via free WhatsApp messenger. You can easily book this apartment at the “Roman Reference” internet resource, making a 15% electronic prepayment.
The only disadvantage of this apartment is the cars and scooters that begin their restless ride along the streets in the early morning. But it probably can’t be in a different way – as well as life lingers on at the very heart of the Eternal City, we can be confident about the world going round.

Pour ce séjour d'une semaine à Rome, nous avons été très bien reçus par la propriétaire; L'appartement est très bien situé , non loin du Colisée et du métro et très vaste pour 4 personnes.

First I wanted to thank the lady who brought us the key of the appartment and his husband who cleaned the house. They were very kind and they did their job completely and the appartment was quite clean.also the location of the appartment was great.
but the appartment had many problems:
1) it had a very very old elevator that we had to climb 8-9 stairs to reach it & it was very difficult with a baby in stroller

2)there was only one small air conditioner for the whole appartment which was in theTV room so we couldnt sleep in the bedrooms since it was very hot.

3)it took 20 minutes for the bat tub to empty the water.

4)the speed of the internet was very low.

5)2 of the windows were broken and we were told to open them carefully or do not open them , there is the risk of  breaking the glass completely.

6)if we put the keys inside and need someone to bring the keys the charge is 200-300 euros.

7)the charge for renting baby bed for 5 nights is 50 euros

I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I loved the apartment #171. It was perfect, even better than I imagined. I think it served as the true heart of our visit to Rome. I was especially grateful that the apartment was warm and welcoming when we arrived. I really loved the neighborhood too. It was so comforting to look out the window into Quattro Santi and think of the sisters in contemplation and prayer. We enjoyed amazing weather with every day adorned with sun and brilliant blue sky. We spent a lot of time exploring the baths, Coliseum, and other wonderful ruins as well as walking along the Via Appia Antica. I am a real history buff so I was fascinated by the multiple layers of civilization.
I look forward to returning to Rome again one day soon. And it goes without questions, that I will work with your services again next time.
