Wonderful location and reasonable space, with a nice balcony. Quiet and private. Furnishings and appliances are somewhat dated, not high end, but functional. One major caveat for would be renters is six flight of stairs. For elderly or anyone, the climb with suitcases is brutal, the rest of the day is a guarantee of exercise!

Great location ...
Nice little shops near by - Ice cream just downstairs - Grocery store at the corner - Metro very close to the appartment.
Excellent terrace/patio...
The best of it all - and we loved it.
My wife suggests to subtract one more star for the quality of beds and the kitchen -

Apartment 167 was super, fabulous views, fab location and a really lovely space to chill after walking for miles around this amazing historic city. Yes 6 flights up but good for the muscles and memory! supermarket at the corner near the church, had everything you might need..had some beautiful meals on the balcony. Very central location, 20 min lovely walk to colosseo, around the corner from the station with buses, metro and trains and airport bus. Plenty of little restaurants around to eat. Church is amazing, fab mosaics, ceiling and statues and the wonderful bells keeping time. There were 5 of us and the two on the pull out bed did find it a tad uncomfortable after a couple of nights but their solution was to put the mattress on the floor and it worked a treat! Our host Raffael was a gentleman and did his utmost to make sure all was well before he left us. Would really recommend the location and the apartment..we are planning a return trip already, a week wasnt nearly enough time to see this incredible city!!

Ligging prima, uitrusting goed, mooi terras. Kritiekpunt

The appartment is fine (although it would need a few additional apparatus - like a microwave owen or a clothes washing machine) and well located with a very nice terrace. the terrace was what attracted us with our kids. however, we believe that the appartment is not adapted for more than 3 people as 2 of the announced 5 beds are located in a sort of veranda on the terrace with no curtains (and hence no way to stop the light and sun rays - with spectacular greenhouse effect -). moreover this veranda is only equipped with a convertible sofa with a very very thin matelass. so, in short, this veranda is not and should not be sold as a proper room. for big families, renting a flat rather booking two hotel rooms seems more advantageous. but in that case, the result was below our expectations.

We are rating this apartment as Excellent with 5 Stars, but be advised that the apartment is up Seven (7) flights of stairs with a total of 121 (I think) steps. You should be in pretty good health and not have a lot of luggage in order to make this work. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the neighborhood and would recommend it to anyone who can handle the stairs.
Although the apartment can, in a pinch, sleep 5 or even 6 guests, only three will have the privacy, comfort and convenience of a bedroom and a bed.
The kitchen is fine for light, simple meals but plan on supplying a few necessities such as olive oil and salt. There is a convenient local super market and plenty of restaurants in the area.
The location worked out well, since it is a five minute walk from the central train station and subway stops.
Our only negative comments about the apartment itself have to do with lighting (not enough of it, especially in the kitchen) and the reluctance of the toilet to flush completely every time. Small things, but we were reminded of them every day.

First to say that we had a lovely time again. We enjoyed the apartment very much and it was a great pleasure to see Rome again.
The single adverse comment I want to make is that we found the bed a little...how shall I say?...past its best. The mattress seemed very soft and bouncy and the shelf/headboard loose, which meant it tended to move when we moved. Needing some tightening up and the mattress needing replacement, perhaps? Though the apartment remains superb, a good night's sleep is so important on holiday, just as at home.
I hope you will take this comment in the spirit with which it is offered: for others, for you and, not least, for us because we would like to come again!
Warmest regards,

Beautiful location and everything you'd want to make it feel like home. The stairs are to be expected and the sight of the church from the roof terrace make up for them.
Suited 3 of us well and the shower did not cause any difficulties.
Only one suggestion for improvement really, another set of keys would be useful because bigger parties often visit different sights and keep different hours.
Via Cavour through to the Colloseo, Panella on Via Merulana for the most amazing pane, Santa Maria Maggiore itself, the proximity of Termini and the metro lines, Teatro dell Opera etc really the location is perfect.

Great location right near the Termini Stazione, minute walk to the Metro. Nice little shops near by off the beat and very affordable. Coffee bar and ice cream parlour just downstairs, grocery store at the corner. Excellent patio with superb view of Santa Maria Maggiore, Sunday morning bells are absolutely stunning to hear. If you don't mind the stairs it is absolutely great. Had a few friends over after the Maratona di Roma and everyone LOVED the place and wanted to stay there themselves. I would absolutely and totally recommend this place!! Buon vacanze!!

The apartment is lovely, nice location near station (walkable). It is well furnished and there is internet. The outside terrace is a HUGE bonus, we had wonderful candlelit dinners at the patio table. Only one complaint, we never really had hot water for the shower. Wasn't a disaster...just meant the showers were SUPER quick!

April 2010
The apartment exceeded our expectations. The living room has a glass wall on the exterior side that opens up into a fairly large terrace with a good view of Santa Maria Magjiore . The location, at least for us, was perfect. Close to Termini without being in a seedy area and one block from the metro. The owner, Raffaelo, was a delight. He was at the apartment when we arrived and had delicious pastries for us.
This apartment is not for everyone, however. The information is disclosed in the listing, but please note that it is on the 6th floor with no elevator. It also has very low water pressure and it takes a while for the water to heat up. But we knew these facts going in and they did not bother us.
Again, a wonderful stay and "Grazie, Raffaelo!"

The flat is very well located, near Termini and at walking distance from major antique sites. The view is beautiful but be aware that you earn it everyday with the 120 steps to climp up. Actually 2 bedrooms (double bed & single bed) : the sofa is not really an option.

We stayed in the apartment around Easter and we had a wonderful stay there - grazie! The outside terrace with view onto Santa Maria Maggiore is outstanding and the apartment is stylishly fournished.
Regarding the area, I must attach to the previous speaker: Although the apartment is close to termini, it's not a seedy area at all, but very lovely.
The owner of the apartment, Raffaelo, is really friendly and cooperative, he even let us stay at the apartment a little bit longer on the day of our check-out, so that we could let our luggage there and didn't have to search for a locker in Rome.
The only small problem is that the apartment has low water pressure and that it takes rather long to heat up.

positive: fantastic location (public transport & shopping nearby), very bright apartment, well equipped kitchen, heating worked well and kept the rooms warm, balcony must be great in warmer weather but it's just good for the views too
negative: some large spots that appeared to be mould on several walls - we did not use one room because of the smell of mould, we never had enough warm water for a shower.
Owner Replies I'm terribly sorry to read this! I care to specify that the mold problem was coming from a leak in the ceiling and it has now been resolved completely. Sorry but that happened while you were there and I couldn't fix it before. I've set the hot water at a higher temperature now, please always call me for these kind of problems I'll be eager to help you!
