Pros: The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans and utensils and has a large fridge. There was no coffee machine for 3 people that I saw, just a small, stovetop coffee percolator. The bathroom is a good size and has plenty of hot water and a bidet. I don't think it's clear from the pictures, but there are really 2 small bedrooms in the apartment and a small living/dining area. The location is wonderful -- the Ottaviano metro stop is literally right outside the front door and the Cola di Rienzi, a wonderful upscale street for shopping, is just a few blocks away (as are the Vatican, St. Peter's, etc.). Plus, it's VERY quiet -- we didn't hear a peep from anyone for 5 days!
Cons: This place would not be comfortable for 4 adults in my opinion. The living room is smaller than it appears in the pictures and 4 adults would be practically touching knees if everyone sat down at once on the funky couches. It worked great with 2 adults and 2 young kids. The beds in the main bedroom are VERY hard so beware if that's a problem for you. There is no view to speak of and we had the blinds down the whole time because otherwise neighbors can look in, so the place feels a bit like a cave after awhile.

First, the apartment's big plus is that it is located right beside the entrance to the Ottaviano metro station and it is also only a few minutes walk to the Vatican.
The negatives we found were:
1. While it advertises as 2 bedrooms there is no bed in the second room.
2. The second room is noisy as it faces the central courtyard so you will hear the main door slamming everytime someone comes in or goes out at night or day.
3. The kitchen is small and only one person can be there comfortably at a time. It does not have an oven, a microwave, a toaster, an electric kettle, a dishwasher, a clothes dryer, a grill, or food processor. So you may cook only what you can fry, boil, or steam.
4. Above the shower there is considerable mould growth and the shower curtain is disgusting (in my opinion). The overall cleanliness of the bathroom left some to be desired in my opinion.
5. The windows would benefit from cleaning and painting as the overall feeling in the apartment is of age.
6. While there are hundreds of tv channels there are few (we found 3 or 4) in English and there is no TV guide for the satellite box so you know which channel is where.
7. Finally, the beds are like sleeping on stones they are so hard.

The apartment is relatively simple in terms of furnishings, etc., which was not a problem. It is located just above a pizza business, whose workers and machinery make a lot of noise until about 11:30 pm. This means that the windows of the apartment must be kept closed to help lower the noise (and cigaratte smoke) levels inside the apartment. Other than that, the location of the apartment is really great.
I suggest the following for improving the experience of future visitors:
-State clearly that the apartment is located above a business, which makes some noise until 11:30 pm
-Clearly state that Internet is not available in this apartment. Better yet, get Internet for the apartment!
-There is a really nice food market about four blocks from the apartment (where Via Santamaura intersects with Via Ostia). Letting tennants know about this in advance would be helpful to them.
-The restaurants in the immediate area of the apartment are not very good.
-"Top 10 Rome" (published by DK Eyewitness Travel) is an excellent one for any visitor to Rome. It highlights many sites to visit within walking distance of this apartment and comes with a handy and compact map. It also recommends some decent restaurants.
