The best thing about this apartment is the location in Trastevere, which is full of restaurants and walking distance to just about any historic site.  The apartment is very small, but if you read the web site, you should be prepared for that.  I quit using the washing machine, because it would flip off the circuit breaker, but there is a laundromat not far away for those who stay for long enough to need laundry done.  For a place to sleep and use as a base, relatively quiet, in a great location, this apartment serves very well.

Well suited apartment in excellent location.  The large living and bedroom were bright, spacious and had great windows.  It's an easy walk to Rome city center and many great monuments and only 2 minutes to Cavour metro.   There are really great restaurants, bars and shopping in Monti.  It's more of a neighborhood then many of the tourist locations.

I would recommend that the owner purchase a toaster and provide some cleaning supplies.  Other than that it's great and I'd stay there again.

Our group of six, three generations, stayed comfortably in the three bedrooms in Rome.
Luca was very helpful. We were in phone/email contact at the time of our reservation and just before our arrival. He set up transportation from the airport for our children and grandchildren.
Capo d'Africa 4 it is located on the back side of the neighborhood toward the Palatine Hill, is across the street from the Colosseum, literally a huge bonus feature to wake up to everyday and it is quieter than other apartments in the area.

We also were pleasantly surprised by the size of the bedrooms. European apartments and many hotel rooms are not as large as their American equivalents, and it is difficult to find a double family hotel room for an affordable price. That is why we chose Capo d'Africa. It accommodated our group; was clean, comfortable, and attractive; had kitchen and laundry facilities; was in a great location; and was affordable.
The district has many small pubs, trattorias, tabbachi shops, etc. All in all, a great place to come home to after full days of sight seeing.

This was my third stay at the Via Giulia apartment in Rome (for 3 weeks this year) and I hope to return again next year.  The apartment is spotlessly clean, has all the amenities one could want, including a new washing machine and dish washer, comfortable furniture and a wonderful rooftop terrace.  It is in a fabulous location on a beautiful historic street, within walking distance of everything one would want to see, yet just a few blocks from public transportation on Corso Vittorio Emmanuele. The owner, Massimo, is attentive to his tenant's needs and questions and responds promptly to any inquiries. Having stayed here three years in a row, I can say that , for me, this is the perfect apartment in Rome!

Excellent, spacious apartment in a very convenient location in Rome for the Colloseum/Forum.  Close to the Cavour metro station.
A perfect place to stay.  It's in a quiet Roman residential street so is a nice relaxing place to be once you've done the hustle and bustle of Rome during the day.  Really nice restaurant and bars very close by.

Very large apartment in Rome, plenty of space for 6 people. Around the corner from the metro stop which was very convenient. Easy walk to Vatican, nice neighborhood with cafe on corner and another on Main Street. Miss having a living room, used dining/kitchen area as the central spot to discuss day's agenda. Nicely equipped kitchen if you choose to cook in. Corner shower in front bedroom tricky to close. I would highly recommend renting this apartment, you will not be disappointed.

This is a lovely apartment in Rome old town:  quiet, secure and clean with a well-supplied kitchen, a good bed, a new bathroom --and plenty of sunlight.  The windows look out on wonderful views of the roof tops and gardens north of Campo dei Fiori, and the apartment is accessed by elevator.
A great location: close to the markets at Campo dei Fiori---and the geat bakeries-- as well as an easy walk to all important sites.  Convenient access to taxi and bus service.

Only three minor qualifications:  an extra blanket for those chilly March evenings, larger bath towels, and extra light for reading in the evening.

This is our fifth time using Roman Reference, they are extremely competent, caring and responsive to the client's needs. We enjoyed our stay here very much and look forward to booking through Roman Reference on a return visit.

The owners of this apartment have not decided whether serving themselves or their clients is more important.   Very deceptive photographs: small rather badly designed bath,  almost non-existant kithen (Very dirty, few dishes, malfuncioning stove, strange unplugged refigerator in dining area,)  If you like bad taste in furniture and pictures on wall this is the place for you.  Floors really need to be repaired--and cleaned.  The apartment is really 52 steps up, not the 22 advertized and the "garden" is really no more than an astro-turfed roof with cheap furniture.  Avoid this one unless your taste tend to funky, and you like to be over-charged, way over-priced.  Could only stay one night, had to leave.   Again, do not believe photographs (we, sadly ,did.)
However, Cities Reference could not have been nicer and more responsive and helped us obtain another place by the next day.  A terrific organization, we have used them on our last five trips to Rome and will happily use them in the future.

This apartment defied our expectations! It's roomy, beautiful, quiet (yes, compared to the rest of Rome), is in a great neighborhood that is residential enough to serve your basic needs (a terrific farmers' market is only blocks away), is close to all kinds of public transit (we took the subway often) and also close enough to walk easily into the centro. Though it's moments away from  Saint Peter's, you don't get any of the crowds associated with a tourist area. Wi-fi, TV, and washer all work great--the kitchen was fully stocked, and we cooked every night. Bruno is a gracious host (thanks so much for the Easter bread and salume!), and Giulia, who greeted us, made sure we had everything we needed. Both of them secured us and our friends transportation to and from Fiumicino, which was so much better than paying taxi prices or negotiating Termini. Grazie mille, Bruno e Giulia! We're already planning our next visit!

Wonderful modern apartment with a great historic setting and a balcony on Piazza Navona! Comfortable chairs and bed and not noisy considering that there is the glass door onto the piazza. Stairs were complex (a flight up, then a flight down, then narrow curving marble steps up to the apartment, a bit difficult with luggage) and the lock of the outside door was very difficult to work, but we would stay there again in a minute and have wonderful memories of seeing the piazza at dawn and at midnight! A wonderful way to be in the heart of historic Rome, near the best monuments, and yet have a place where you can put your feet up and relax!

Also, also wanted to state that the back door didn't lock.  This door went out onto a terrace that had stairs to the owner's daughter below.  Someone entered our apartment when we were out the first day.  This was very scary to sleep at night with an unlocked door.  We do feel that this apartment was not up to correct standards and we should be issued a refund for a portion of our payment!

This apartment was a great value with comfy queen bed, WiFi, kitchen, bath/shower lot's of room for 2, or maybe up to 4 people. It is cute and spacious with a bustling little neighborhood (great nightlife, restaurants, shops and a grocery store). It is just off a main thoroughfare and is centrally located in "Old Rome". It's just a short walk from the train station, and close to bus stops, the subway, and the Colosseum. If you are in reasonable shape, everything (even the Vatican) is within walking distance. Be assured, Roman Reference was VERY easy to work with. This apartment and they were everything we had hoped for!

Beautiful way to spend our first wedding anniversary, one we won't forget. Thank you for a lovely stay.
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Rome. Alessandro was a wonderful owner, and couldn't have made us more welcome. They were quick to recommend things to do and places to eat.

This apartment is an excellent place to stay! We lived there for a week, our first visit to Rome. We would definitely stay there again. Pietro is an oustanding landlord, very attentive to our needs. He is a modern communicator, meaning that he replies to emails quickly and with thorough information, which was so helpful. The apartment is well-designed, tastefully appointed and VERY clean: nice layout, comfortable furniture, an efficient kitchen and wonderful bathroom. There is also a clothes washer. It was so nice to come home this well-maintained apartment after a full day of Rome's complexity. The location is terrific, especially for first time visitors to Rome. The street is very active with pedestrians, but you do not hear it at all in this apartment. The balcony is purely functional - for laundry or smokers (not our concern). But you don't need a view when you just spent all day in the city. Go back to the apartment to relax, enjoy watching a DVD or using the internet. The apartment has excellent WIFI (which is essential in my opinion).

We look forward to our next visit!

Wow, where to begin. My husband and I, and are gigantic Neoapolitan Mastiff stayed at Barbara and Elio's aprtment for three months from January through March. The apartment is exactly as pictured, has everything you'll need for your stay whether short or long, it's very clean AND quiet. The balcony is really not large enough to do more than open the doors for light and air, but the apartment has a unique addition that quite frankly made our trip. Across from the door to the apartment are the stairs going up to the rooftop terrace. A huge space seemingly forgotten by the rest of the building with gorgeous views of the city. Every day we sat up on the terrace with a glass of wine and watched the sun set.

The location couldn't be more perfect. On a quiet side street at the top of a hill, we frequently talked about how amazing it was to find a place directly in the middle of town that was so quiet. Very quiet. Yet you are a 10 minute stroll for the Colloseum, (a large park across the street is perfect if you have a dog. There is a large group that meets there every morning. Otherwise don't try and find grass or trees in Rome. It took us a couple of days to figure this out.), a 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps, a 2 minute walk to the Subway station and a five minute walk to 4 different grocery stores, bars, restaurants, fish shops, butchers, cafe's, shopping and other activities. I was told that the whole area has undergone a revival in the past 6-7 years and is now one of the new trendy spots with more restaurants and shops opening every day. If you are driving there are a couple of car parks withing walking distance. I believe you need a permit to park in the area otherwise. Seriously, the location could not be better. Renting a place can often be hit or miss and this location is a jackpot.

Lastly, I want to thank our gratious hosts. Both Barabara and Elio were warm and friendly, yet left us to our own devices almost the entire three months. On the couple of occasions were we had an issue, (the housekeeper someohow turned off the hot water once), Elio came over within minutes to fix it. They were both full of tips and suggestions, helpful when we had language issues and even pretended they didn't mind getting completely slimed by a young, overly energetic Mastiff.

We had an amazing time in Rome and this apartment and our hosts were part of the reason.

Thank you again.
Michael, Fred and Titus.
